TREATMENT & PROCESS

We provide a comprehensive range of services to support our clients, including Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOT) and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). Our offerings also encompass Financial Management and Housing Assistance Services, ensuring our clients have the resources they need to thrive. Additionally, we offer Women’s Health Classes and Job Readiness Classes to empower individuals in their personal and professional lives. To further enhance well-being, we offer Mental Health Counseling and a variety of Life Skills Classes to equip our clients with essential tools for everyday challenges.

  • ADMITTANCE PROCESS
  • Referral & Initial Inquiry
    • Individuals may be referred by probation/parole, social service agencies, treatment providers, or self-referral.
    • Staff collect basic information: name, contact information, current living situation, legal status, substance use history, and immediate needs.
    • Provide the applicant with an overview of the program expectations and available services.
  • Pre-Screening Interview
    • Conducted by Case Manager or Program Director (in person or via phone/video).
    • Screen for safety risks, sobriety commitment, mental health needs, and ability to participate in the program.
    • Staff determines whether the applicant meets eligibility criteria.
  • Application Submission
    • Applicant completes the Gilead House Application, Release of Information forms, Emergency Contact form, and Acknowledgement of Rules & Expectations.
    • Staff reviews all forms before proceeding.
    • Insurance Eligibility is determined.
  • Background & Verification
    • Criminal background check (if applicable).
    • Verify probation/parole status and expectations.
    • Contact treatment providers or case managers for additional information (with ROI).
    • Confirm identification, income source, and any medical needs.
  • Admission Decision
    • The Case Manager and Program Director review information and determine acceptance, waitlist, or denial.
    • Applicant is contacted within 48–72 hours.
  • Intake Appointment
    • Complete the full intake packet and program orientation.
    • Review and sign the Housing Agreement and House Rules.

Admittance process

A majority of our clients come out of incarceration or drug court.  We meet them where they are in their journey and set them up to be able to heal, grow, and break the cycle of addiction.  The bulk of the workload is on them, but we create a space during their stay where they can start over, even if it’s for the 100th time.

FACILITY RULES

Clients will be required to adhere to all rules as outlined in the intake process.  On the right is a brief overview of the facility rules. It is essential that firm boundaries and guidelines are followed as participants work to rebuild their lives and develop new, healthy patterns and skills.

  • FIRST 30 DAY
    • In the first 30 days, no cell phones or visitation
  • LAND LINE PHONE CALLS
    • We do allow two 15-minute phone calls daily (in the common area)
  • AFTER 30 DAYS
    • After the first 30 days, cell phones are permitted on Sat & Sunday (2-4 pm).
  • LEAVING THE FACILITY IS PROHIBITED
    • Clients are not permitted to leave the facility without notifying staff. We assist clients in attending court-ordered, medical, and financial appointments. Assistance with additional miscellaneous appointments may be given, pending staff approval
  • SUBJECT TO CHANGE
    Rules may be subject to change as needed to comply with state and insurance standards and guidelines, as well as to further ensure the safety of our staff and residents.

  • Attendance & Participation Requirements
    • Attend all scheduled case management meetings.
    • Participate in required classes, groups, or recovery meetings.
    • Program classes are Monday to Friday, 8 am-4 pm, with one hour for lunch and short breaks in between group sessions.
    • Follow curfew and daily schedules.
    • Clients are not allowed to leave the facility for their first 30 days.
    • Complete assigned chores.
    • No visitation allowed in your first 30 days.
  • Sobriety & Wellness
    • Maintain sobriety and submit to random drug/alcohol screenings.
    • Report relapse or high-risk situations.
    • Follow mental-health and medical treatment plans.
  • Behavioral Expectations
    • Demonstrate respectful communication.
    • Avoid threats, violence, or harassment.
    • Respect boundaries and shared spaces
  • Property, Privacy & Room Standards
    • No cell phones allowed in your first 30 days. These items will be turned in and locked up in the staff office
    • Keep rooms clean and organized.
    • Participate in regularly conducted room checks
    • Maintain common areas and report issues.
  • Employment, Education & Life Skills
    • Pursue employment, education, or vocational goals after your first 60 days.
    • Complete weekly progress check-ins.
    • Participate in budgeting and life-skills classes.
  • Financial Accountability
    • Pay the required program fees.
    • Communicate hardships before due dates.
    • Follow budgeting or savings requirements.
  • Corrective Action & Consequences
    • Verbal Warning
    • Written Warning
    • Behavior Contract or Corrective Plan
    • Loss of privileges or increased structure
    • Temporary pass restrictions
    • Discharge for severe or repeated violations
  • Graduation & Completion
    • Maintain sobriety and complete program requirements.
    • Meet case management goals and demonstrate readiness.
    • Graduates may receive a certificate and alumni support.
    • We do offer an Extended Stay option for up to six months (post-graduation) for those who qualify.

ACCOUNTABILITY PROCESS

Every day, there are more opportunities for our clients to grow, learn, and change.  It’s up to them to do the hard work.  We know that what we’ve been doing for the past 27 years does work.  It’s about rebuilding that trust and showing them that we really do care!

    • Each client has a private RESIDENTIAL CUBE in the community living area
    • Included in each RESIDENTIAL CUBE is the following
      • Twin bed with complete bedding
      • Nightstand with a lamp
      • 3-Drawer Dresser and a footlocker
      • Garment Rack
      • Curtain door covering
  • WHAT DOES IT COST THE CLIENT?
    • Clients are required to be on Medicaid to enter the treatment program
    • Room & Board is covered by either the Client, Community Partner, Housing Voucher or Recovery Works.
  • CAN YOU COME TO THE GILEAD HOUSE BEFORE DETOXING?
    • We require that every client has completed detox before entering our program.
  • WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS AFTER GRADUTION
    For our clients who have not secured housing after graduation, we do offer an Extended Stay option.  Monthly payment is required for them to stay on and can be provided by Grants, Community Partners, Vouchers, or Self-Pay.
